stylin’ salt & pep

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

This stylin’ salt and pep set by Jonathan Adler will not only add a bit of elegant panache to your table setting this holiday season, it will get people talking instead of dozing off after that delicious turkey you slaved over (or tofurkey for your veggies out there).

The handmade, porcelain matte set is simple and cute, and might I say that handlebar mustache is quite the awesome accent to the tablescape! And for some reason I’m imagining he says “Chip chip cheerio!” every time you tip him upside down to shake out the pepper. Ha. . . if only.

ikaraoke

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

So. . . I know there are a lot of you out there that love singing karaoke to itty bitty, teeny tiny pieces. I may still be too shy for that much singing exposure (eegads!), but I do love to cheer you all on! That being said, when I saw this iKaraoke accessory for iPods (doesn’t work with iPhones, sorry!), I thought I must share because there are so many that would have to have it. Or at least have to put it on their holiday wish list!

For $60 bucks, the sleek iKaraoke mic plugs right into your iPod and has a super long audio cable for your stereo, so your performance will sound amazing, er, well. . . maybe amazing. It also boasts a feature that allows you to dim vocals or get rid of them completely if going solo is your bag. And there’s a Tuneprompter which creates karaoke videos for any of your favorite music in your library! I’m not a karaoke lover, but I’m excited about this!

going back. back to school. again.

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Whoa whoa. I gotta go, back to schoo-ooo-oool, again.

Okay, not really. I did however, just watch “Grease 2″ (in my defense it was on TV), and saw the back to school supplies at my local Target. Hence, I’m thinking about school and how fun it used to be to pick out that first day outfit. Maybe it was more frightening than fun, but I’m gonna go for fun today, as I picked out my imaginary first-day-on-campus outfit. It’s cute and flirty and has that lovable vintage twist. And who are we kidding? I just might get this ensemble anyway and wear it to work. Who cares if it isn’t my first day. . . this is too fetching to pass up! I’ll just carry a brown bag lunch in addition to that beautiful tote for good ole’ times sake. Sounds like a plan!

Oh and just to set the record straight, I DO in fact own “Grease 2″ on VHS cause I’m a cool rider. A co-o-o-o-l rider! Ha.

summer’s coming

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Summer is on the way. Hooray. Once in fourth grade I was given the opportunity to name a play for my basketball team. Some went with numbers and colors, but I chose “Summer’s Coming” for mine. . . I can’t really remember why, but I can’t help but giggle about it now. Apparently I’ve always liked a bit of creativity here and there. He he. But anyway, I digress.

Summer is actually coming, and when I saw the gems and jewels created by Amber White of BeadinBabe, I couldn’t help but imagine a summer wardrobe around them. The flower rings are a great pop of color, and the antique brass finish adds an extra special vintage flare I can’t resist. And best of all, Amber is offering some great deals on her blog this week – like buy any two items and get a free set of hammered brass stacking rings. Sweet!

And I’d like to start my imaginary new summer wardrobe with these beautiful pieces, and these lovely dresses from Fred Flare. Love love love. Now the weather just needs to cooperate and we’ll be all set!

first day of spring. . .

Friday, March 20th, 2009

So, it’s Friday and the first day of spring, can it get any better than that? Well, perhaps. . . especially if I could get my hands on all the sping inspired creations below. I love this time of year and all the wonderful colors and designs it inspires. Everything is sunny and warm, and I wish it could stay like that forever.
