There are many vintage things I love. . . cameo brooches, antique lamps, old typewriters. . . they bring about a certain kind of sophistication and straightforward elegance. I think that’s why I feel Byron here and I are kindred spirits on some level. Or maybe I just really want his sofa – and a cup of tea.
Amber Alexander’s prints from her original acrylic paintings are imaginative and classically inspired. I like the playfulness and quirky approach. And of course her reasonable prices are a great asset as well.

Yes it’s true. After a childhood full of camping trips on sweltering hot summer days, I reached my limit a couple years ago. I officially love not camping (for many reasons I won’t go into). But I DO like the look and retro feel of RVs. . . kinda like how I love polaroids. Be it nostalgia, simplicity or just that 70’s color brown and wood paneling – I like it and therefore, I like these prints.

So, it’s Friday and the first day of spring, can it get any better than that? Well, perhaps. . . especially if I could get my hands on all the sping inspired creations below. I love this time of year and all the wonderful colors and designs it inspires. Everything is sunny and warm, and I wish it could stay like that forever.

There is so much I like about Art Espirit’s song book pieces, that I don’t even know where to begin. The paintings are done directly on vintage, German song book pages which I absolutely love. It’s the perfect combination of old world music charm, and modern creativity. Very VERY cool.

It’s no secret around here that I love Brit Rock (a lot), and with that comes a love for anything inspired by the prim and proper monarchs. Perhaps it’s the approach, even in the music, that takes me in. The style, the nod to tradition whilst forging your own way, the confidence, the attitude, the simple lyrics and just so lapels that actually mean so much - it’s all very inspiring. With that said, I went ahead and found some royal-esque items, colors and shapes I think are all of the above characteristics. . .

Giving vintage goodies a second chance is what I like to see. There’s nothing more charming than uncovering the beauty in forgotten and overlooked things. Etsy shop owner Vintage Refashioned is doing just that, creating sweet little brooches, hair pins and bags out of amazing recycled coat sleeves and other lovely fabrics and buttons. My only gripe is I want to see more!

And my favorite moment today. . . seeing this Sailor Girl Bag!

Everything really is only 5 dollars! The spools of lace and ribbon would look fab in bedrooms inspired by Marie Antoinette, ruffly chic toilettes or around a perfume scented love letter. . . the options are endless!

Lead singer of Santa Dog and a fabulous textile designer to boot, Red Ruby Rose’s brainchild Rowena creates clutches I adore. The designs, the colors and the way the clutches just pop, is fantastic. Nothing beats an accessory that was put together with love and über nifty style. As my dear friends in Grimstad would say – SNACKS!

This line of ceramic goodies by Chicago’s Circa Ceramics - a two person team that comes up with very clever designs for cups, bowls, magnets and tiles – will amp up any kitchen’s atmosphere with very minimal effort on your part! I find the turntables, bikes and typewriters especially charming. But if those don’t float your boat, there is plenty to choose from like skulls, hearts, bolts, sewing machines, cameras. . . you name it, it’s probably on a cup!
