Fighting for human rights for over 30 years has made ActionAid a leader in standing up against global struggles. Thanks to their latest effort—The 6 Degrees Project supports women’s rights by forming world-wide connections between women of all creeds, to stop discrimination, violence and poverty. And the idea that we’re all just six degrees apart can really make a difference.

The 6 Degrees Project kicks off with a free download of Chaka Khan’s trademark song “I’m Every Woman” put together by a group of amazing female artists including Róisín Murphy, producer Amanda Ghost, Alessi’s Ark, thecockandbullkid, Micachu, and Sinead O’Connor.

Bat For Lashes‘ latest single “Daniel” off Two Suns is electric and eerie, and despite the slowed down backbeats I can definitely envision a room full of people swaying back and forth to it. The video I’ll admit though, is a little beyond my understanding. I think my brain must be fried, because I’m just not getting it. Love the song though. . .

Bat For Lashes’ forthcoming album Two Suns is set to drop April 6th. A listen to our pre-release copy revealed a haunting, thought provoking quilt woven with bewitching vocals, compelling synth beats and a plethora of instruments that add a glimmer to each song.

“Daniel” has a synthetic, metallic sound that is reminiscent of a fog filled, magical roller rink. “Peace of Mind” is a soulful ballad, complete with gospel singers and fitting raps on the tambourine.

The track “Moon and Moon” is stripped down with delicate piano; a simply beautiful song story. Listen to the track performed live below – the back-up singers and hand claps in this performance are especially alluring. . .

There’s a lot more that could be said about Two Suns, so look for more sneak peeks here as the countdown begins to the album release!
