Sweden’s Dasrotesrabbit has a brilliant eye for color and and a wicked sense of design. I really love the way each piece pops and engages the eye. . . like the “OK” illustration below. Is that a lemon, or a bird, or both?? I don’t really know, and actually, I don’t really care, because it’s so cool! And the giant blackbird in heels? I mean come on, how nifty would that look on your wall?!
Check out more of Dasrotesrabbit’s work on Etsy or on their blog here. There’s definitely a lot to be inspired by, as you can already see!
No, I’m not trying to give you advice. Music does make the world go round though, so starting a band would be a very positive thing to do! But, “You Should Start a Band” is also the title of Austin, Texas band the Frontier Brothers‘ latest track.
And I must say, I love the HEYS and oh oh oh ohwah oh a oh ohs, because those always make for a good time, no? Check out the video below for a listen, and if you dig the track too, be sure to download the song! I mean, it’s FREE, and there’s really no harm in getting a few “oh-wah ohs” on of your own.
The beautiful pendants and rings by BrookeArinare not only charming and delicate, they’re handstamped sterling, giving that oh so attractive one of a kind feel.
The tiny details are what make each piece stand out, especially her sweet nesting ring, and simple “X O” pendant. Both perfect accessories inspired by this lovely time of year, when birds are singing and love is blooming!
The “stuff made from stuff” motto by PixelThison Etsyis simple, but so effective. Especially thanks to this cool wheel clock, I must say. Reusing and up-cycling worn out or broken items is always a great start to designing something not only meaningful, but unique for your home. And this clock is a wheel winner in that respect. . .
And instead of using wheels, a shiny gear crank is another awesome way to view time, even if it’s rolling by too fast or as slow as drying paint. It’ll be fun to watch tick by!
After a long break I’m back to bring you all what’s hot and what’s not this season. . . and spring has finally arrived in Copenhagen so flowers, flowers and more flowers are my biggest source of inspiration. Lovely!
I can’t wait to finish up this semester because wearing summer dresses every day is my plan, and what better way to complete the look than with a pair of fantastic wedges and the funkiest vintage sunglasses you can find! I’m going to search through my mums old ones, and hopefully I’ll find some just as cool as these from Giant Vintage. And finally, for just the right vintage look, making hairbands from zig-zag ribbons is the way to go. And of course have fun, I will!
Opticwastehas a fantastic spin on the antique art of silhouettes. Inspired by vintage art, quiet corners and bird wings, Ellen of Opticwaste has made her own series with a very charming and admirable twist. You may think at first glance, these are just another copy of what’s been done for hundreds of years. But if you look again there’s an entertaining edge to each, with the story discretely placed on the back of the frame.
From Uncle George to cousin Clara and her hoop skirts, I love them and the stories they inspire. It definitely gets the imagination going! Oh the webs we could weave. . .
“Emma and the hornet god got on well. Perhaps too well.”
“Beatrice neglected to read the full list of exotic ingredients in her favorite perfume. This was to have alarming consequences.”
“Lisette Landry, the famed bird hypnotist.”
“Uncle George and the spider surprise!”
“Cousin Clara had occasion to reflect that storing her hoop skirts in the attic was perhaps not the best idea.”

Also interesting to note, the frames are re-purposed and gently distressed by Ellen the artist, and have no glass. Each one is mounted on bamboo paper, a very green and renewable resource.
W Records by Monkey, one of the coolest home and style accessory teams around, are celebrating Earth Day the only way they know how. . . with amazing cuffs and pendants made from recycled vinyl records. Check out this limited edition and inspiring green collection here.
Available only from April 21 – 30th, the cuffs and pendant are a must-have to not only show your support for our precious Earth and all its splendor (yes I said splendor!), but also to show your support for independent design and music. So you best get on it, I know I am. Only 9 days left to get your hands on this super cool collection!
Sweden’s trio Little Majorette or more than a little addicting. Lead vocalist Zoe Durrant has a compelling tone and her current band mates, Petter Winnberg and Nils Törnqvist, do an extra special job of making their latest single “Bite the Bullet” sound one-of-a-kind.
And I’ll be honest, there are sounds and instruments in there that leave me scratching my head, but in a good way of course. I just mean I don’t what the heck they are, but I really like that whistling, polka-like backbeat. Makes me wish I could whistle along, but thanks to my major lack of skill in that area, I’ll settle for tapping my foot and bobbing my head to this happy number. Be sure to keep checking their sites too, because as of April 26th “Bite the Bullet” and other fun and syncopated morsels will be available for purchase. Tack så mycket!
Check out Deluka’s video for “Cascade” below, cause if you like hand claps as much as I do, you’ll love this song! And just because it’s your lucky day, you can also download the acoustic version of “Cascade” for FREE over in our Listen Up! section. Woot woot.
What pray tell, could be better than a classic and tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich? A GIANT one! And thanks to Fred & Friends, a mammoth PB and J is right at our finger tips with this sandwich shaped cake pan, complete with a peanut butter and jelly pound cake recipe. Sweet, in more ways than one!
And if you’re not a cake fan, how about a dainty and oh so proper teacupcake? Talk about a cute and fancy schmancy way to eat a sweet treat. Again, thank Fred & Friendsfor this great way to munch on frosted bites in a very decorous and delicious manner. Don’t forget the pinky salut!
There’s nothing as refreshing as spring flowers, and there’s really nothing as delightful as spring flowers in an antique mason jar. The look and feel is so cheerful and warm, you can’t help but feel just happy, plain and simple (and smiley).
With warmer weather and long, hazy days just around the corner, these colorful, shabby shelves with mason jar vases are just the ticket for brightening up a foggy room. For only 20 bucks you can grab one from Old New Again on Etsy. Their handmade wood shelves, key hooks, organizers, wall vases and blackboards are put together from recyled and new materials.
Or instead of purchasing one of the below, you could take the inspiration and try crafting one for yourself. I think I’ll try my hand at that, with a bit of help from my handy dad of course. I might eventually share my finished product with you too (might being the operative word). But in the meantime, enjoy these photos and p.s., isn’t their vintage bingo clock (see below) AWESOME?! Calling O 70… for OOOO my gosh, I have to have that!
Everyone knows time goes by super ridiculously fast, when you wish it would take the pace of a tortoise. And then it always takes a painstakingly slow pace, when you’d like nothing more for it to fly by. Whatever the case may be, I believe it would be so much easier to bear if it ticked by in bright, cheerful colors.
And thanks to Richard Shed Studio, we can have just that. The eye-catching hues and sleek font of the clock below will not only get time on your side, it’ll make time your new stylish and hip friend that’s never late, and never too early.
I feel like everyone is getting busy busy busy as the weather warms up, myself included. So it’s highly probable you’ve already seen these extra nerdy-cute chair socks, but if you’ve been super swamped with life, maybe you haven’t yet! In any case, these argyle, tube or striped booties for your chairs are definitely worth a look or two. Not only do they protect your hardwood floors, they look snazzy and will totally ward off any conversation lulls at your next soiree. Designed by Germany’s Chris & Ruby, check ‘em out over at designspray for about $20 a set.
Check out Montreal’s very own electro-pop duo Hexes & Ohs. . . they’re very erm, electric and cute in melody and style. With tracks like “Little Bird” and “H-H-H-Highschool” , their latest album Bedroom Madness is full of fun and charming tunes perfect for the warm summer months ahead. Be sure to download the FREE track below! Because what’s better than a free music filled Friday?? Exactly. Nuttin’.

One look at the blog post title today and you’re probably thinking, no duh, it’s Wednesday, nice one. Right, I know. . . but what you don’t know is there’s also a super fun and FREE mp3 entitled “Wednesday” available below! The first single off Rene Lopez’s latest full-length album People Are Just People out May 4th, “Wednesday” is infused with catchy sprinkles of pop and soul, full of 60’s dance beats that’ll get you up and moving.
So like my momma taught me, I’m gonna get my groove on by doing the frug (say FROog) in my new but old gingham, polyester pant suit. Oh yeah. Did I mention there are hand claps?! Sa-weet.
