the heavy
With their eclectic style and genuine ability to rip through any genre with unapologetic fervor, the Heavy have an authentic and unique flair for what they call their “musically schizophrenic” sound. This southern UK quartet are soulful and gritty, sexy and cool in their musicality and performance – taking on whatever genre they please in a very noticeable way.
It’s as if they’ve flipped through the encyclopedias of R & B, soul, rock and pop, and created something all their own using all the lovely, fiery bits of each one. These self-proclaimed musical chemists have a neo-soul/pop/rock/r & b style that is exceptional — full of horns and gravelly beats, strut worthy melodies and potent vocals. With their notorious horned rimmed glasses and lead vocalist Swaby’s red sneaks, these gents are oh so British and truly one of a kind.
Check out their latest video for the sultry, old-timey blues track “Sixteen” below, and while you’re at it, download all of their tracks here!
For a taste of their fiery, intense (but not too serious for its own good) rock, check out their video for “Oh No Not You Again” below too. . .
