jordy flashback
For whatever reason this morning I was suddenly hit with the memory of Jordy Lemoine, the youngest singer to ever have a #1 hit with his pop song ”Dur dur d’être bébé!”. That’s French for “It’s Tough to Be a Baby”. He was only 4 when it hit airwaves and thanks to my brother Brent, I had the single when it was still #1 (in France). I thought I was so so cool for a 6th grader. Oh la la baby!
Here’s a Hollywood performance of that single which is quite entertaining actually. Whitney Houston and Prince sure seem to be enjoying themselves anyway. Gotta love the ’90s!
Apparently, not long after this performance the French government banned Jordy from radio and TV under the belief that his parents were exploiting him. After some turmoil, Jordy is now 21 and trying his hand and chops at singing again as Jordy & the Dixies; his first single in over 12 years is ”Je t’apprendrai”.
So here he is again. . . older, wiser, and super French looking in his super white jeans. Ow ow!
